This regular French visiting Training Schooner the " Rara Avis " was anchored off Taylors Island today She is owned by the association Amis de Jeudi-Dimanche (AJD). L'AJD bought this ship as a second schooner in 1973, with the same objective as the Bel Espoir, ie sailing with problem youths and addicts so that they can find their way back into society with their sailing traineeship.
