The St. Mary's Lifeboat was called out at 11.00 am. today to go to the assistance of a French 50 ft. Racing/foiling Trimaran " Group GCA " which had become dismasted 7 mm. west south west of the BIshop Rock Ligthouse. The Lifeboat reached the trimaran at about 11.50 am 7.6 nm WSW of the Bishop and secured a tow to the Tri and arrived back outside St. Mary's Harbour at 1.40 where the Harbour launch Pegasus took over and anchored the Tri off Porthlow. The Trimaran had been taking part with 5 other Trimarans in a 950 nm. race from Cowes, south of Scilly to the Fastnet Rock and north to the Great Skellig on the west coast of Ireland then south to a mark off Lorient and back to finish at Roscoff. ......Robin Mawer
