Bessie Ellen

Bessie Ellen passing Old Town Bay this afternoon. She is one of the last surviving West Country Trading Ketches . She is 120 years old having been built in Plymouth in 1904. She was trading until 1947 when she was sold to Denmark where she traded in the Baltic until the 1970s. She came back to the West Country and was fitted out with accommodation for carrying guests on trips....Robin Mawer
