In Porthcressa on Saturday was this old fishing vessel the " Gleaner " (LT64). She was built in 1878 in Porthleven by Kitto, for the Lowestoft fishing industry. She is apparently the only Lowestoft sailing drifter afloat today (and certainly the only one with a dipping lug!) She is 60ft. long ( without bowsprit ) 16ft. 6" wide with an 8ft. draught . She was largest vessel at the Sea Salts and Sail festival, Mousehole, Cornwall, over the weekend 13th to 15th July..............Robin Mawer
