Female swimmer Vicky Miller yesterday attempted to swim from Scilly to the Mainland. She started about 7.00am from near Deep Point and got within about 2.5 miles from Lands End at about 10.00pm when she appeared to give up. What a shame when she was so close to achieving it ! She was escorted by the support boat Celtic Fox of Penzance......Robin Mawer
