In Porthlow there use to be a very prominent rock at low tide known as " Conger Rock " ( Which I used to swim out to and dive off when the tide had come in a bit ) until the Army came to do Sea Defence work.

They had a go at moving it up the beach but it was too heavy for their equipment and it got rolled over into a dip and looks like this now !!!

Unfortunately  cant find an old photo to compare with........Robin Mawer
