Hello .love your old and new post cards.... can u tell me what is the strange looking building ..where there is now a tree.......It has a very tall roof and a low wall around it?
The 'strange building' is the Powder House or Magazine for The Garrison. The wall surrounding the building kept the damp earth at bay to keep the powder dry. It's in a very good state of preservation and is open to the public with a good range of display boards inside - all in all, its well worth a visit.
