Old & New. A hand tinted view from the Garrison of Town Beach probably in the early 1950s. The Fisherman's Building ( used as a Leading Mark to avoid the Bacon Ledge when lined up with the Buzza Tower ) on the Strand was replaced by the present Shelter ( with the Leading Mark on its roof ) in 1954 commemorating the Coronation in 1953. ( Photographer and Artist unknown but most likely a Gibson ). Compared with one taken today......Robin Mawer
