25.8.07. Off the Newman this afternoon seagulls having a feed on a shoal of fish, can somebody tell me what sort of fish they were as they were certainly making alot of noise and throwing up alot of water. pic K.

They were probably Mackerel - we saw several shoals off Samson and later off Peninnis - caught a dozen for tea - great on the BBQ. Are they spawning at this time of year? We caught a few females loaded with eggs.D & M
